THE BACKYARD COCKTAIL

Spicy, tart, and just a bit herbaceous, this is a refreshing way to serve smokey and rich mezcal. Sort of like a man smoking a cigar in a panama hat and white linen.  Mysterious, masculine, but totally summer ready.

INGREDIENTS

3 mint leaves, plus more for garnish

1/2 teaspoon green tabasco

1 ounce mezcal

1/2 ounce chartreuse

1 ounce lime juice

1/2 ounce simple syrup

DIRECTIONS

Muddle the mint leaves and tabasco in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.  Add the remaining ingredients, fill with ice, and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.  Pour everything into a tumbler, garnish with mint.
