It’s that time of year where bowls and ladles and little cups are a totally appropriate response to a group of people at your door. Hot Toddies are the perfect cold weather drink to sip on by the fire place: sweet, spicy in a spice drawer kind of way, a touch of lemon, and of course…some kind of booze. But to put a new twist on this cocktail classic, I replaced the lemon and water with a fragrant chai tea blend, and the typical whiskey or brandy with dark rum. The result is a cozy, comforting cocktail that honestly tastes like the season. You’ll want to enjoy this one snuggled up on the couch in a cashmere sweater.

INGREDIENTS
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) dark rum
1 tablespoon mild honey
1/4 cup chai tea
DIRECTIONS
Put rum and honey in a 6-ounce mug. Top off with hot chai tea and stir until honey is dissolved.
