Somewhere between a Last Word and an Eastside, the East End blends bright citrus and herb flavors perfectly. This is such a simple, clean cocktail, and always hits the spot.

INGREDIENTS

4 slices cucumber

1 ounce lime juice

1 1/2 ounce gin (or infused vodka)

1/2 ounce green chartreuse

1/2 ounce simple syrup

DIRECTIONS

First add the cucumber slices and lime juice in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.  Muddle for a few seconds, to break down the cucumber. Add the remaining ingredients, fill 2/3 full with ice, and shake for about 15 seconds, strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a slice of cucumber.

INGREDIENTS (INFUSED VODKA)

750 ml vodka

1 lime, peeled

1 small cucumber, sliced thinly

2 tablespoons basil leaves, roughly torn

DIRECTIONS

Combine everything in a lidded container. Put in the fridge and let it infuse for 1 week. Strain, and store in the fridge.
