Bamboo flatware has been turning up everywhere lately.  It’s inexpensive, “green,” and looks a lot fancier than paper plates. These black bamboo plates are the most recent version I’ve seen, made of compressed fiber, rather than with sheets of wood.  The result is light weight, chic, and though not disposable, super inexpensive. These could just be my new melamine.
