Everyone jokes that every family needs a lawyer and a doctor, but I’d like to add make up artist to that list. My cousin Erica is a fabulous professional makeup artist and the beauty blogger behind Pretty Pleased, her site featuring beauty tips and tricks, her insider advice. I thought she could bring a little of that beauty wisdom over to The Kitchy Kitchen, so she’ll be here blogging once a month. Stay tuned for all things pretty and lovely!
This face mask is chocked full vitamins, will help clear your skin, and keeps you moisturized at the same time. Pumpkin is an amazing skin care ingredient, containing vitamins A, C, antioxidants, alpha-hydroxy acids, anti-inflammatory benefits, among much more. The enzymes and amino acids in milk help smooth skin, and moisturize, while the honey rejuvenates and keeps acne at bay. The cinnamon brings blood and nutrients to the surface, making it excellent for diminishing fine lines, while almonds act as an exfoliant and are soothing for chapped skin. This is a face mask you’ll want to use year ’round and tastes uh-mazing.
You can eliminate any one of these ingredients if you have an allergy.
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup whole milk
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons coconut oil
2 tablespoons almonds (grind in food processor until powdery)
Mix all ingredients together to form a paste and apply to skin using fingers. Leave on for 30 minutes and then wash off. (You can also change the coarseness of the almonds to make this more of a scrub.)
