WHITNEY’S MONTHLY WINE PICK: ALWAYS UNDER $15, AND ALWAYS DELICIOUS

Choosing a wine can be an intimidating task for the uninitiated, but any seasoned wine drinker knows that good wine doesn’t always mean expensive wine. That’s where Whitney comes in.  She’s here to help you pick a delicious bottle at an even more delicious price.

If you don’t already know her, I’d like to introduce all of you to my dear friend, Whitney Adams.  A fabulous sommelier living in Los Angeles, she just launched her wine accessories brand and online shop, Bottle Stock, and blogs about wine and other drinking adventures at Whitney A.  We make silly videos together and she’s basically the best.

WHITNEY’S OCTOBER PICK:

2014 Tilted Shed Smoked Cider

California

$15.99, Domaine LA

Nothing screams liquid fall to me more than apple cider. It’s just so cozy, comforting, and refreshing and a nice departure from the world of wine. Although, Tilted Shed Ciderworks in Sonoma approaches their ciders like wine creating nuanced, dry, and sometimes even tannic ciders with complexity and a focus on terroir. This smoked cider is the result of smoking their apples over oak, apple, and pear wood. Such a fun departure from the typical sweet and simple style. It would be fantastic paired with Claire’s Campfire Grilled Cheese.
