WHITNEY’S MONTHLY WINE PICK: ALWAYS UNDER $15, AND ALWAYS DELICIOUS
Choosing a wine can be an intimidating task for the uninitiated, but any seasoned wine drinker knows that good wine doesn’t always mean expensive wine. That’s where Whitney comes in. She’s here to help you pick a delicious bottle at an even more delicious price.
If you don’t already know her, I’d like to introduce all of you to my dear friend, Whitney Adams. A fabulous sommelier living in Los Angeles, she just launched her wine accessories brand and online shop, Bottle Stock, and blogs about wine and other drinking adventures at Whitney A. We make silly videos together and she’s basically the best.
WHITNEY’S MAY PICK:
2014 Famille Sumeire “Cabaret” Rose
Provence, France
$15, Domaine LA
Spring has sprung! Bring on the pink wine. This might have to be my favorite time of year. Not only for the warming weather, but the abundance of rosés that start to arrive from abroad. The mecca for rosés has to be Provence in southern France. They own the category and have defined a style loved by many – light, bright, dry and pretty. This Cabaret rosé is a blend of Grenache and Cinsault, typical for the region. It’s the kind of wine you could drink anywhere and anytime…and you should. Or pair with Claire’s Cheddar Jalapeno Green Onion Donuts for weekend brunch perfection.
